Video Marketers Prove ROI Better Than Text-Based Marketers [Infographic]

"The problem: 71% of marketers in 2013 were unable to deliver satisfying metrics or reporting to demonstrate clear ROI," according to an infographic from Vidyard. One issue regarding ROI is that "text-based content assets are difficult to track once syndicated," Vidyard states. "Video, on the other hand, is much different." What makes video easier to track and measure? Some 43% of video marketers are able to capture content metrics across all channels compared with just 16% of non-video marketers, according to research cited in the infographic. How Canada’s Anti-Spam Law Will Affect Email Marketers [Infographic]

Canada's anti-spam law (CASL), which is set to start going into effect on July 1, will likely have a significant impact not only on email marketers based in Canada but also on marketers in other countries, according to a recent report from CakeMail. As the company's overview of the new law notes, "If you own or operate a business in Canada, or if you have emails on your list ending in '.ca'—chances are pretty good that CASL applies to you." According to CakeMail, the regulations will likely affect any organization that uses email to promote its business in Canada. Moreover, it puts the burden of determining whether recipients are accessing messages in the country on the marketer. The 10 most popular content topics on Facebook and Twitter are very similar, but topics differ significantly beyond the top 10, according to a recent study by Klout. The report was based on Klout Topics data (categorized interests, passions, and content areas) from over 580 million people around the world. The analysis found music and television rank as the No. 1 and No. 2 most popular topics, respectively, on both Facebook and Twitter. Creating and sharing content concerning celebrities, software, holidays, films, and business is also extremely popular on both social networks.    Overall, 40% of topic interactions occur around the top 10 content areas on Facebook and Twitter, with the pattern of engagement looking roughly similar for each network.
